If I don't know how to ride a bicycle, can I ride an eBike?

What should we wear?

We recommend running shoes or sports shoes. Sandals are acceptable if they are more substantial than flip-flops. They must be firmly affixed to the foot with substantial soles. Short skirts or very long skirts will not be a comfortable option.

Are there any weight or height restrictions?

Yes, we have found that the minimum weight to safely operate the eBikes is 115 lb. and height should be at least 5 feet. It is important that we know if riders are between 5 feet and 5 foot 3 inches tall. Failure to let us know this may result in not being able to participate.
Our eBikes have a load capacity of 315 lb.

What model of eBike will I be renting?

For performance and ease of use, we mainly utilize our lithium powered URBAN models. We occasionally may utilize other models at our discretion.

Is a security deposit required?

Yes, a security deposit of $100 per eBike is required through Visa or Mastercard

Can two people ride on the eBike?

We allow only one rider on our eBikes.

Can these eBikes really be pedalled?

It is possible for very short distances, but not recommended due to the weight of the bike.

How far can I go on one battery charge?

Generally 40 to 60 km. Our eBikes are intended to be used as an alternate way of visiting all that Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer. If you have no intention of stopping along the way you won't use them to their potential. For those of you with range anxiety, we are installing charging stations at various locations.

If I rent an eBike for more than a day, do I charge the battery myself?

No. Drop into our shop every day and we will install a fresh battery pack.

Are there limits to where I can take my rental eBike?

Yes, we ask that you remain within approximately a 12 km radius of downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake, which gives ample range to visit the Town of Queenston and all area wineries, etc.

Can I ride an eBike on bike paths?

Yes! Ontario Law views eBikes in the same way as traditional bicycles but we strictly enforce a 15 km/h speed limit and the "wheels yield to heels" rule when using the paths!

How old do I have to be to rent an eBike?

We require riders to be 18 or older, or 16 if accompanied by older family members .

Do I need a drivers licence or insurance to rent an eBike?

Can I reserve an eBike in advance?

Yes, it is recommended to avoid disappointment. Fill out the form here to request booking dates and times and we will confirm with you.

Will you supply the helmet or do I have to supply my own?

Yes, we supply helmets, or you may bring your own cycling helmet which is the minimum required by law.
